Foundation (Beginner) Hatha Yoga Classes
Love yoga but don’t like the large class sizes and one pose fits all approach?
Reclaim a positive relationship with yoga and your body whilst gaining strength, flexibility and balance in body and mind. Uncover a more grounded and relaxed you and build connections with like minded people in this homely, fun, relaxed and really personalised class.
This ongoing weekly class teaches you the Foundations of Hatha Yoga. Its a beginner level class suited to anyone new to yoga (subject to health) or those returning to a regular practice who want to become more solid in their Foundation poses. I incorporate meditation throughout every class.
In each class you will be encouraged and guided to practice where your body is at. All poses can be modified to suit your unique body, strength and balance. Classes are structured to cover a dynamic practice working all areas of your body through its range of motion. Each class builds on the last to progress you in your practice.
Suited to any age and any body. No prior experience is needed and all equipment is provided. But, if you have your favourite practice mat then please bring it along!
This class is held in the yoga room in my home. The perfect place to begin and develop your practice in a small and fully supported group. In this space I’m able to give really detailed and personalised instructions to every pose. This enable you to build confidence in the integrity of your own practice.

Why Do Yoga?
Because yoga is INCREDIBLE!
There are so many layers to yoga practice. For one person it’s all about exercise and fitness, maybe even that toned yoga body. For another person it’s about flexibility, strength and balance. And then there’s the release of tension and relaxation that might be the reason for doing yoga for someone else. And yet another persons answer is about the deeper lessons – how what you learn about yourself on the yoga mat during practice translates into a better experience of life off the mat.
I took up yoga for ALL of these reasons. And it has been amazing. I have increased my body’s strength, balance and tone. My range of motion and flexibility is improving monthly. I have learned how to unlock tension and tightness in my body – and how to not put it back in thanks to Pranayama and Meditation. I have learned how to sit in discomfort and not run away from it. I have learned how to not be judgemental and critical of my body and its abilities compared to the person on the mat next to me. And this is only some of the benefits I have experienced from yoga.
And I would love to share this with you and discover what yoga can be for you.
Yoga Is For Every Body
If you can breathe – you can do yoga. Any body can do yoga and anybody can participate regardless of age, fitness or flexibility. Your body might not be flexible but yoga is. It can be modified and adapted to suit your body – wherever it’s at. The poses and flow can be personalised and tailored specifically to your needs and goals. I provide a warm and supportive environment for you to find comfort and ease as you enter your Hatha Yoga journey with me.
This is the class to come to if you have never done yoga before or are returning to practice after a break. If you’re an intermediate yogi this class can help to refresh and build the foundations of a safe and long lasting practice.
In each class we learn, practice and develop the basics or fundamentals of yoga. This ensures you develop a solid foundation on which to build a future, more advanced practice. Poses are modified to your personal needs within the class. This means that I’ll give you a modified variation, or move you towards a more advanced version when your body is ready for it. At all times you’re encouraged and guided to find strength and solidity in each pose at whatever level you’re at on that day. This ensures you are creating good practice habits and reduces the risk of injury whilst ensuring you get the maximum benefit from each pose that is possible.
Each class has a specific focus and you are encouraged to set a practice intention. But don’t worry – you will be fully guided in this too. Having a class focus simply means that the flow of poses within the class will be around strengthening, opening and lengthening certain parts of the body – like shoulders, core or legs. This means that every class builds on the last and you get a complete body workout with repeated visits.
